Squaring the Cycle

In order to know exactly what we are making art with, we should make it ourselves... this idea gave rise to the project of the self-sufficient artist, with the self-sufficient garden for artists.

The current installation illustrates the scientific term of the title, translated into artistic production in the cycle of naturally growing resources (flax, plant pigments), with the following art works produced in this way: "We reap..." "...what we sow" and by blocks wrapped with hand-spun flax, a hand-woven flax textile as a canvas, as well as a flax plant. It is an artistic interpretation of natural cycles, framed by the wish that human may rediscover his place in this natural system (Exhibited: Dominikanerkirche, Krems, 2023/ Westbahnhof, Vienna, 2024.
